Students will follow a proven curriculum over their course of study. Students will be taught the four main subjects:

* English
* Maths
* Verbal Reasoning (VR)
* Non-Verbal Reasoning (NVR)

Students will receive weekly homework packs in line with the topics that they are taught in class. Other than the subjects covered in class, you can expect to receive supportive material on the following topics:

* Spellings
* Vocabulary building
* Creative writing

Our curriculum enables students to progress systematically, allowing students to equip themselves with the knowledge to grasp the next level in each subject. We use a topic by topic system, which allows students to move to the next topic with confidence.

Students will be assessed regularly, and parents can expect a weekly report card which will entail:

* The score of the weekly quiz in maths, spelling, and vocabulary building
* Homework set in English, maths, verbal reasoning, and non-verbal reasoning
* A description of the topic taught in class

Year 5 students will also have the opportunity to sit mock exams, here they will develop time management and have their learning assessed. Mock exams play a fundamental role in boosting confidence and having our students ready for the 11+ selective test.
